(April 11 – Sunday) Pakhtunkhwa: The Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Aimal Wali Khan said that the state has the prime duty to protect the lives and properties of its citizens but unfortunately, in the case of Pakhtuns, the state has failed to fulfill its responsibility.

“Along with other basic human rights, Pakhtuns are being deprived of their right to life snd liberty,” Aimal said, “They are tired of carrying the bodies of their loved ones.”

He strongly condemned the deaths of 16 missing coal miners in Kohat, saying the wounds of the Jani Khel tragedy had not yet healed when Pashtun found more dead bodies of innocent miners. “These people were abducted in a broad daylight and now their mutilated bodies were found,” he said. He added that it explains that these people are so powerful that even the state has failed to control them.

The ANP leader said this tragedy and grief is not only the grief of the people of Shangla and the affected families but of the entire Pakhtunkhwa. “The ANP stands with the affected families in this hour of grief and will raise voice against this cruelty and barbarism at every farm,” Aimal said.

Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, a senior leader of ANP has demanded the government to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and punish the criminals behind the murder of 16 innocent coal minors.

“This gruesome murder is a mystery that must be investigated to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Ghulam Bilour said. He added that there were no such gruesome crimes in our country before but our establishment [Pakistan Army], at the behest of the United States, created terrorist organizations that were used inside and outside the country.

Bilour said that the terror organizations have killed Pashtuns and created Shia-Sunnis rifts in the country. He demanded the army to left the politicians to govern to bring peace and stability to the entire region. He demanded the chief minister to provide Rs5 million compensation for each family of 16 miners.
